Brett Smith is a third-generation Smith family member who grew up in and around S&S Cycle before attending the United States Military Academy at West Point. After serving in the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, he attended the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and later worked in corporate business development at John Deere.

Brett became the first third-generation family member to join the S&S Board of Directors and joined the company as CFO in 2002. He was appointed President in 2003 and served through October 2008. During his tenure, sales and profitability doubled, the S&S emissions lab was established, new performance engine platforms—including the proprietary X-Wedge—were introduced, and S&S-powered motorcycles achieved major NHRA and AHDRA success.

After leaving S&S, Brett and a business partner built a financial services firm focused on multi-generational wealth and transition planning. He returned as a shareholder advisor in 2019, rejoined the Board in 2023, and in early 2024 was appointed to lead and mentor the management team while helping reestablish S&S as a prominent contributor to the V-Twin industry. He is also actively involved in mentoring the fourth generation of Smith family members at S&S.

Tom Smith is a third-generation Smith family member who grew up working at S&S Cycle. After graduating from Western Technical College and the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, he returned to S&S full-time and has remained a continuous part of the company throughout his adult career.

Known internally as a go-to source of V-Twin knowledge, Tom led S&S Dealer Education and Training and was instrumental in establishing the company’s remanufacturing and speed shop capabilities for dealers. He also served as a trusted confidant to Brett Smith during Brett’s tenure as President.

In 2025, Tom was named Special Liaison to the Board of Directors, bringing decades of technical and institutional knowledge to the Board, senior leadership team, and the broader organization. His sons, Tytus and Zander, became the first full-time fourth-generation Smith family employees.

Tom resides in Wisconsin with his wife, Muriah, and family. He enjoys working in his personal shop, where ideas for S&S products and market-diversification efforts often take shape.

Charlie Hadayia is a powersports industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience spanning retail, dealership operations, distribution, product-line management, technical operations, sales, and racing.

During his previous tenure at S&S Cycle, Charlie held key roles across Dealer Training, Remanufacturing, Product Line, Tech, Sales, and Racing. His contributions included helping establish S&S remanufacturing services and the S&S Dealer Training Center, supporting the 2007 acquisition of Flathead Power—now S&S Vintage—and the 2009 launch of the S&S K-Bobb limited-production Knucklehead motorcycles.

After leaving S&S in 2010, Charlie led operations and business development for Biker’s Choice, where sales grew 35% while profitability increased. In 2020, he joined APG and led supply-chain and product-line functions in the automotive aftermarket.

Charlie reengaged with S&S at the Board’s request in March 2024 and returned full-time in June 2024. Outside work, he enjoys family time, hunting, fishing, and riding, building, and restoring motorcycles.

Howard has been around the motorcycle industry for a while, serving as editor of both HOT BIKE and STREET CHOPPER Magazines, as well as feature editor of HOT ROD BIKES magazine before his first stint at S&S. Additionally, Howard was the Brand Director for an apparel line owned by Tucker Rocky and was director of an advertising agency that supported Kawasaki.

While at S&S, he was heavily involved in the planning and execution of the S&S 50th Anniversary celebration, creation of the very successful line of engine service manuals and many other marketing initiatives that brought awareness of the S&S Proven Performance line of products.

When he is not at S&S, Howard spends his time on his three hobbies: motorcycles, cars and guns, all of which he points out are expensive and require cleaning.

Justin is an industry veteran with 26 years of V-twin experience. During his 19 years at S&S Cycle, Bramstedt has held several titles to include Test Technician, Development Engineer, Product Line Manager, R&D Manager, NHRA/S&S Race Manager and Warranty and Remanufacturing Manager. Additionally Justin brings 7 years experience operating his own repair and performance shop.

Bramstedt was instrumental in the development of the fabled S&S Cycle 145ci engine, crankshafts, multiple big-bore kits, camshafts, 4.125” engines, oil pumps, clutches, transmissions and has tested nearly all the v-twin products S&S has released. Bramstedt brings a wealth of industry knowledge to many departments within S&S and with that, excitement for many new Proven Performance products. Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Minnesota State University.

Jeff Bailey is a mechanical engineer with more than 25 years at S&S Cycle. Across roles including Project Engineer, R&I Powertrain Lead, Engineering Manager, and Chief Engineer, he has led teams responsible for the X-Wedge engine, Indian FTR750, and numerous S&S aftermarket products.

Racing and performance are central to Jeff’s work. He has set numerous records at the Bonneville Salt Flats and leads the S&S Race Department as it supports grassroots racing, racing dealers, and the company’s broader competition initiatives.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a master’s degree in engineering engine systems from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Before joining S&S Cycle, Serena Inman served as Human Resources & Industrial Relations Manager at Crown Cork & Seal in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In that role, she partnered with plant management and was responsible for all aspects of human resources for the facility.

Previously, Serena spent five years in local government as Human Resources Director for Vernon County. There, she led implementation of a new compensation structure and supported a county reorganization that included hiring Vernon County’s first County Administrator.

Serena holds a BBA in Human Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. She is a Senior Certified Professional through SHRM and a Certified Labor Relations Professional through Michigan State.

Like many long-term S&S Cycle team members, Travis Egge began his 36-year career by working summers while going to school. After several summers, he decided S&S was where he wanted to build his career and moved into a full-time role in 1995.

Travis worked across a number of manufacturing cells, including flywheel machining and assembly as well as engine assembly. He became cell lead for engine assembly in 2003 and later served as a production supervisor across multiple departments, bringing broad manufacturing experience throughout the organization.

Outside of S&S, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife, Angela, and their two children, Anelise and Aidric, as well as hunting.

Heather Pryor is an accounting professional with more than 20 years of experience. Her hands-on approach to financial management and complex problem-solving supports S&S Cycle’s focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Her experience spans day-to-day accounting operations, audits, and financial statements, giving her a broad perspective on the financial disciplines required to support the organization.

Outside of work, Heather spends much of her time cheering on her children at sporting events.
