Still need to plug in the generator, wire it all up, and pull the kicker cover off and figure out why the kicking is skipping. Otherwise, there she is.

looking quite sweet, how about some shots of the shotguns...like coming off the rear head. i have some buell ss header pipes to cut up and make shot guns with, but it a tight fit there

Will do, I'll do that tomorrow. I made shotguns for my Knuck a long time ago, I think I just cut a front cylinder drag pipe short for the rear cylinder...but I forget! I may have just cut the rear pipe until it fit. At any rate I remember that all I did was cut a drag pipe down to make the rear cylinder pipe . Those are Paughco pipes on the "Little Mistress".

I wrapped the rear pipe a bit as it comes very close to the oil tank...didn't figure she needed any help getting the oil hot.

I'm running a Bendix, it sticks out there a bit, but not too bad, still a comfortable riding position.

And I found the most funky, old and worn shift knob possible, off a 1970 Duster that was sitting out in a field. !!! :) Adds just the right touch I think.

thanks for the header pic, knucklebolt. mighty tight bend out of port and over tranny, this is where i stalled out last winter on my shotgun project, this winter i'll get it done....thanks mark

One would think that rear pipe would be easy, but it's not! That's for sure. The pipes on mine are from Paugcho. I'm quite satisfied with them, but the fit is not perfect, as it lays the pipe a little closer to the oil tank than I would like. The more I move it away from the tank, the less the muffler will run parellel to the bike/frame. So...that's why I wrapped it and kept it tucked in. There probably needs to be another tiny bend in the pipe just before the rear muffler. The front pipe is a very nice fit, which is surprising as it goes between the frame and engine, and all that.

Years ago I made a set of shotgun pipes for a UL using an MCM upsweep rear pipe for a Panhead. Trimming the mounting bell off of it and slightly shortening it until the angles lined up. Because it had been for a Pan there was a bend out away from the oil tank that worked very well keeping the pipe out on the UL as well. I may do it again on a Big Flatty project I am cooking up. I picked up a donor pipe a while back.

I think that is why, years ago, using an old drag pipe, to make a rear shotgun pipe for the knucklehead worked fairly eaisly, I was able to shorten it a tiny bit at a time until it fit right. Makes sense. Might make sense for the maker of a rear shotgun pipe to leave it a little long on the cylinder end, and let the end user shorten it to fit. Or not. ?

The rear pipe on my 45/Ariel project took more time than the rest of the exhaust put together and I'm still not 100% happy with it. Lack of space, as already mentioned. If I were doing it again I'd naked it a shotgun type, I think
Shoot, a man could have a good weekend in Dallas with all that stuff...
