41UL Bottom End on Ebay

Looking at "rebuilt" 1941 UL bottom end on Ebay ... The serial numbers look good to me, although the bottom numbers are quite a bit higher than I would consider typical.

More importantly, in one of the photos, it looks like JB Weld has been smeared around the main bearing race on primary case side of the engine. For a "rebuilt" bottom end this seems a little odd. Anybody have any idea what this might be hiding? Something to worry about?

Any comments appreciated about the numbers or the JB Weld or anything else.

P.S. I may have answered my own question. It kind of looks like the JBWeld was an attempt to attach the inner primary, as all the three bolt holes looks stripped out when you do a close-up view.

Removing all the epoxy filler would be the only way to determine what's under there. Did you confront the seller with the fact that he stated "there are no damages or repairs"?
