This picture was taken 5 years ago during the middle of one of it's transformations. Titled as a '81 reconstructed vehicle, it was built from swap meet parts. It is presently going through another transformation, as well as a tranny rebuild. ..........ARC

I didn't have a budget for this, or time to do it but the price

engine seems good, needs some reassembly but the parts are there including a Milkuni carb and 12v Sportster dynamo. Frame is uncut although with a few lugs missing, nothing that cant be fixed. Tanks are stock. Footboard hardware seems complete although mosty repro. New exhaust among various spares and parts.

Original front end was long gone, and the Jap front end last used on it has been sold by the seller... some rummaging around and horse trading has produced a 1970s Jammer set of wide glides in panhead yokes, so that will fit the 1" neck conversion already in place, plus a 16" front wheel to suit. 1970s calipers, £36 from ebay; 1970s Honda front brake lever and cylinder, £15.

Best of all it has a UK registration ( age related number ), having been on the road here in the past... it seems to have been brought over in the 80s.

This is my 45. Its been heavily modified and is still the subject of minor mods. It's very usable and the brakes are fantastic. When I first bought my scoot 14 years ago and rode it around locally I nearly ended up being a boot ornament for a car that braked suddenly...hence the brakes. ~ Vince

Nice bike ! Fred Warr is one cool fellow.

That's a very typical Fred Warr rebuild, actually - the rear seat rail, right-side brake and straight-bar luggage rack were typical "Fred" details. Note also the Lucas ignition coil hanging off the battery box, the Harley-style twin-spark coil was very expensive in UK at the time, so quite a few 45s either had two single-spark coils. Of course, neither fitted the stock bracket and would be hung off the bike in any convenient spot.

The picture was obviously taken in the later 1970s because it appears to have lost its front number plate. These were often stuck on the windshield, or transversely above the headlight if a low-type light was fitted, the Harley front mudguard isn't really suited to the British-style "bacon-slicer" number-plate

Rebuilt engine and transmision with the help of PA and others on this site.
Time to put all the parts together for real now.
