QUALITY WL, WR, K, KH & STROKER PISTONS

Hi Guys,

I am trying to see how much demand there would be for top quality racing pistons for the 45's and if it would be worth doing.

They would be Forged pistons made in the USA by one of the top manufacturers of Power Sport pistons.
They would be similar in construction to what is used in the XR 750 racers.
They would have Teflon coated skirts, supplied complete with standard pin, locks, and rings.
Rings 1mm top, 1.2mm second, 2.8mm 3 piece oil .
Available in flat and domed top, standard and +.040 to start with.
WL's would need pop up heads.
Stroker pistons would also be a possibilty.
They would be an "off the shelf" item with a price in the $150 each range.

Yes! Yes! Yes! You can count me in! I want to use T&O stroker flywheels for a wl/k project. I have early, (short) K model cylinders and stroker pistons that allow me the required amount of pop-up would certainly make my world a happier place! I would be interested in at least three sets of pistons for various 45 projects on the go. Thank you!

What comression ratio would be available in the domed piston version? I'm interested in a set for my KR/WL, 0.020" OVER, 4 1/2" stroke. TIA

The C/R would be dependent on the head you used, dome pistons would require the 69R head.
It doesn't make sense to use them with another head.
I probably will be making these but it is a ways off.

Bruce. How is your piston project moving? I would be interested in a couple of sets.
Have you looked into the clearace these pistons would require? I have seen different properties from the different poviders available and learned the hard way that setting up the clearance according to the old original worshop manual can give you a surprices as the alloy might be different and swells different than did the original alloy

Don't see any point in domed or pop up pistons? For the sake of 1/2 a horsepower?

Hi Mike,

I an on my 2nd order of pistons (I get a dozen at a time).
I am trying to stock them in Std., +.020, +.040, & +.060.
I am all out of Std. right now, but will order more this week.
I didn't expect to need many Std. but it seems everbody is putting in sleeves. I had 4 requests for Std. last week.
These have .125 pop up and use the factory pin diameter.
I have moved the top ring down closer to the pin as I have seen maany cylinders with a deeper than normal relief.
These pistons will fit WL, WLD, WLDR, K, KH, KHK, & G modesl with the heads machined for the correct pop up (which I also offer as a service).
