S&S rod rollers / cage question
Apparently there is a little wear on the crankpin or the rod races or both, so measurements tell me that
I need + .0004 oversize rollers.
Now I'm looking to purchase the rollers, but every source I've looked at breaks it down as follows:
1. 1941 - 1972 with steel cages and 18 rollers
or
2. 1973 up with alloy cages and 17 rollers.
My S&S rods have steel cages that hold 16 rollers in each of the 3 rows.
Are these unique to S&S rods?
Where can I purchase them?
Are the rollers dimensionally equivalent to either of the commonly listed year groups?
Would it just be easier to purchase common H-D cages and load them with the easily
available rollers?
Thanks for any and all help.
