Has anybody ever made a crankshaft for a HD engine?
Re: Crankshaft instead of flywheel
Many decades ago, I do not recall exactly when, I saw an HD engine with a crankshaft and automotive split rod babbit bearings. If I can recall correctly, they modified the cases to except an access cover to the rod caps.

I remember one, it had 145" with plain auto style bearings. Mike
Re: Crankshaft instead of flywheel
You arn't thinking of the Super V that Nostalga Cycles built are you? Basicaly the front two cylinders off a 350 Chevy. It was a good idea but the excution and customer service was BAD. Seems like thier Shovel knockoff used the same automotive style lower end. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on that.
