Fingers crossed for all 6 numbers on the lottery tonight!

that is a trick question, right? Whoever pays $25,000-plus for a Sportster of any sort is doing it purely as a static collection item whose value is directly related to its "mint-in-the-box" condition

If you can afford the 30,000, why not throw caution to the wind and burn the box? we only live once!

..... define "afford the $30,000"......

That's what it went for. Converts to £19,000 near as dammit.
Just to put this into perspective, XR's have always been pricey. I remember looking in at a shop in Nottingham which briefly dabbled with second-hand Harleys in the late 1980's; they had a nice XR in there but even then wanted £6500 ($10270) for it and it was second-hand. It sold though.
I always fancied one, not so much for the performance but the fact that they looked so brutal compared to the cooking Sporties. Having read in depth about the reliability issues though, I'm perhaps glad I was just too dirt-poor to afford one!
