Looking for LARGE piston`s for my K R project

Hello,
I am interested in buying a set of pistons that measure in the range of 2.900 to 2.950 for my KR project. The cyl`s I have came with one Hepolite piston that measures 2.900. I tried to Google Hepolite and Heplex, and the # on the piston 13047, no one seems to recognize the #, it is a +030, 4 ring piston, curved at the bottom of the skirt. Don`t even know if they would work. I have contacted J+E Pistons and others, they want "at least" seven hundred bucks for a minimum of 2 set`s, so you know that means it will probably be more. Too much for me. With that said.... I would like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction on pistons that would work for me or where I can buy them. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank You, Anthony

Sounds like your cylinders have been bored for Indian scout pistons. They are approx 1/8th inch larger than K . My KHK had a set in it when I bought it. Look at the Indian piston sources and I believe your problems will be over. Other than the fact that your cylinders are now paper thin!

Oh, and also, what is the inner diameter of your piston pin bushing, as Scout is smaller than KR?

indianut speaks truth. i have been using venolia for many years. they are the only piston maker i've found that will make what i want, 1 pair at a time and charge a reasonable price. my last set cost about $210 to my door.

Indian Scout pistons have a different deck height than HD pistons, they miss by about a 1/4" from TDC. I had a '52 KR that was bored out for Scout pistons years ago. There is only about 0.030" left in the cylinder before it is sleeve time.BREWSKI

By the time it was bored large enough for the sleeve the fins would start falling off! Not enough meat in the casting for a sleeve that size.

Robbie,
Scout pistons came in two compression heights. I'll bet that the Bonney Ville pistons are tall enough. I have some new Scout pistons but don't remember if they are Bonney or not. I'll look and see what I have tomorrow.
