Urn Assistance Request For Dusty's Son

Dusty has decided to lay his Son to rest in an urn. It is to be an urn built from a Sport Scout cylinder. Dave has the cylinder and he will be going with nickel plating. Suggestions on a reputable nickel plater would be very helpful to start with. The walnut base is already taken care of but he could use some additional parts as well. Not being an Indian man, though I love the sound and look of them, my expertice is very lacking in the parts department, so Dave will have to list the necessary additional components and assistance he seeks.

Please roll up your sleeves, as you have done so in the past with the Brady urn, and help Dusty bring his recently lost Son's urn to a reality. Any and all help with parts, recommendations, and suggestions are humbly appreciated.

Thank you, Pa

Beachdog,
I spoke to Industrial Plating and I think they are definatly the place. I'm brazing some fins and the exhaust spigot this weekend hope to get it in the mail monday morning. I found a trench head that looks good from the top and right at home on the 39 cylinder.

Re: Urn Assistance Request For Dusty's Son

Right now I'm torren between using a fairly small tall walnut base with the intake port capped-valve cover side front and a wide short base maybe star shaped with a Polished Linkert and brass Indian pant shield mounted to the cylinder carb front. Ideas?

Dusty-Dave,
I like the idea with the carb. And if you need one I have an M88 with some damage that would make a nice donor carb for the project if you need it. Let me know and I'll get it to you.
Once again so sorry for your loss!

I think we are going with a short star shaped American walnut base and a Linkert with brass pant shield. Robbie you have PM.

Re: Urn Assistance Request For Dusty's Son

Well i got to visit with Dusty-Dave on Saturday for a little while. Delivered a carb to him for the Urn project. He is doing as well as one is able in the circumstances. As we all are aware, the loss of a child is the worst thing any parent has to deal with. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!
Anyone else got anything to help him with?

Re: Urn Assistance Request For Dusty's Son

Thanks Robbie it will look nice! It's coming together I still need the top of a Linkert high speed needle and the choke lever and accociated parts on that side of the choke shaft. About 30 inches of 1/2" or so brass hex shaft. And someone who can tig new tops on a few fins on the alluminum head, neighbor who thought he could fix them can't.

Re: Urn Assistance Request For Dusty's Son

The urn is coming along the plating company promised the cylinder back later this week, kyle should be through with the head soon, Tim should have the black walnut for the base this week, I'm coming along on polishing the carb up. Lyle sent a brass Indian air horn cover (pant Shield). Still need some Linkert stuff, a highspeed needle or the top nut and the choke lever.

Indianut,
What do you need for the engraving? What metal would engrave well and go on the black walnut?
Thanks
