It saddens me deeply to report the following to you all. Dusty-Dave, a real decent Bro and long time valued member of our forum family, lost his youngest son and best friend last night. He hit a dog with his Honda VT. The dog ran out of a ditch and on to the highway right in front of him. He was killed instantly.
Dave...Please do.... !!! May we gather needed parts for you ?? Just tell us what all you need Bro. You witnessed how the Bro's responded to the urn project. They came through very honorably. I personally would be very proud and humble to participate for you in behalf of your Dearly Departed Son. Mimi and JC had to wait many long years to lay their Boy properly down to rest. Let us not wait that long for your Boy my Friend.
I am looking for a reliable shop to nickle plate the cylinder, any sujestions? I already have a cylinder that was ruined by what ever shop sleeved it so off center that it wont go in a case. Havent found a head yet or valve covers yet. My doctors husband volinteered to make a walnut base. Dusty
Off hand I don't have any plater recommendations Dusty. I'll see what I can turn up. I will start a new topic on the urn build and we will get this project into gear. Should have the topic up later this afternoon. It is critical you calculate volume for the cylinder and extension compartment. Brady's urn extension had to be modified for more volume. The walnut box conceals the additional volume spaced required.
Dusty, sorry for the loss of your son. There is a good plater here whose nickel on vintage MC parts is nice. They are in San Carlos, CA. Industrial Plating Co, Inc, 803 American St, 94070, 800-477-1048. PJ
