PINION SHAFT RUNOUT

I recently had flywheels and rods put in lower end of my 41 FL and when I install the gear cover it binds a little when I rotate the wheels.I put a dial indicator on the pinion shaft and I have .008 runout where the shaft rides in the bushing.Does anybody have a spec for this I cant find one anywhere and this seems excessive.The bushing in the cover looks to be in good shape and the pinion shaft is the original.

It should be less than .001" and I even consider .001" excessive. It sounds like one of three issues. Pinion shaft not seated square to the flywheel, flywheels out of true, or it is bent. Pa

Thanks Pa,I guess I'm taking this thing back to the guy who did it,he came highly recommended but this isn't acceptable.
