Ok guys, heres the deal. I was fueling up my 47 servi when this old fella pulled up next to me, with a 1994 electra. He was commenting on my just completed project, and said,I turned down at least 20 people for my ole 1934, but all they want to do is chop it up and sell the dam parts! So he asked if i had something like that what i would do,and proudly told him id probably make a 2 year project out of it and restore it to its original state. He says heres my buisnees card, call me and come take a look at it. So i took the trip,1 1/2 hrs from me,,Its original ok,,,nothing missing totaly complete,,i brought my more experianced friend of mine for his input. We both agreed it was in great shape, (was run 2 years ago),, So when i asked him what he wanted for a price he said he wouldnt take nothing less than, ahem,,,$20,000.00 thats right,20K !,,So heres the question, i was thinking more in the lines of 8 - 10 K range but 20K ????,,,,Most of you have more knowledge and experiance at this,, so please give me your opinion,,thanks again,,,,,,Yankee,,,LIVE FREE OR DIE !, If by chance some of you guys , would be interested, let me know id turn this deal on to you !
Wow, what a favor, only $20K. I wouldn't even bother to answer.
If someone just gave me that response straight up, I'd say "I'll pass, good luck with it, no offense", but after telling you how he wants to adopt you and let you marry his daughter.... I don't like being jerked around.
They're still not worth a lot of money. You should be able to get a better one for less.

Yankee,
The bloom is off the Harley Investment bud. Prices are falling off gradually and 20 large is way too much. The old boy might could have got his price 3 or 4 years ago, but probably not no more.
I expect to see more and cheaper old rides as time goes on and the toys of collectors become "non performing assetts".
Keep looking tho. Never know what might show up where.

YES I'd have to say OUCH to that one too!
If you're looking for a 34VL, I just looked at one last week, it's still available, and for less than Half that price , plus it's a 34VLD model, more better. It was complete, kicked over, no run, but close, all real, repainted ugly blue. Let me know if interested.
