Chief intake nipples

I was looking at a set of Indian cylinders today that someone has changed the intake nipples on. My friend said he was told that the previous owner had Pan or Knuckle threaded inserts installed, the threads appear to be the right size for Harleys. But they are just small enough that a stock Harley intake will just slip over the threads with no contact. Has any one experienced a set of heads this way before? The cast numbers on the cylinder base are 93074 and 93076 and both threads are the same.

Yes I do Cotten, as soon as it warms up a bit I'll take a ride over and get the measurement:)Somebody has gone an slipped us a 30 degree morning here, I know that's warm an toasty to some. My old fingers have enough trouble working nowadays already:)
