I'm looking for some feedback on the T&O 80" flywheels for VL's. What kind of experience has anyone had with them? What about using the later model rods with these. THANKS STROKER
Re: t&o flywheels
I bought a set of the afore mentioned flywheels in 2005,price was $250.00,and I had to wait over a month to reorder them as TAIWAN TED had bought every set T&0 had in stock. These flywheels use the later OHV rods with the bigger crankpin. BREWSKI
Re: t&o flywheels
I've heard a rumor several times thru the years that T&O's flywheels are not designed to rev higher than 4000-4500 rpm. Each time it's been stated that S&S wheels will and are better because of this. Each time I've heard it I search the internet for more info but have never found any proof. Is this just a dumb myth that keeps being repeated?

Thank You Panic.

If you have less than this, you're fine.
That's tragic!
I guess its back to depleted uranium wheels for me.

Re: t&o flywheels
As to the RPM capability of T&O flywheels, I can confirm Panic's statement (well, almost). I ran 5 1/4" stroke T&O wheels in my last serious drag bike, and took the RPM to 7,000 for every shift. They performed flawlessly at over 200 rear wheel HP. I am quite sure that racers using T&O flywheels have doubled that HP figure on nitro.
Re: t&o flywheels
This thread is under "Big Twin Flatties". I doupt very many people that run this old iron will be turning them that many RPMs very often. Mine sure won't!
