Supercharged Race Side Valve

Hi all,

This is the time in my life when I'm thinking of a new race bike project before arthritis gets the better of me...

Been trawling the web a bit but can't find much info or experiences by others on supercharging a side valve vee twin...

Anybody out here that might have some useful links or some personal experience on the matter?

Panic, I did saw your page on superchargers choice recently, but not that one, so more food for thoughts...

I'm looking for side valve info in particular, since their CR and ignition advance are already a lot lower than OHV set ups, hence could we infer that we could cram a lot more mixture in them before hitting the usual supercharged OHV problems?

hi panic,
was wondering if patric could contact them througth the company,as hes here in england its not like hes in direct competion, and as you say apart from the actual device for boosting the atmospheric pessure all the other tuning tricks should be the same, super v turbo.
there is a vid of a 73 iron head on youtube showing how the drive for a small super charger unit [looks like a metro turbo unit modified,but isnt ] is run off the primary,to a jack shaft between the cylinders and then a belt up to the unit mounted under a frisco'd tank.

Among other things a special set of turbo cams designed and built by American Cycle Fabrication. This motor pulls 70 horsepower naturally aspirated!

Hi Panic, Jib,

I don't fancy using a turbo, I have one on my car, I hate the way it behaves... Engine's got plenty of umphhh but it always feels like it's pulling 20 tonnes behind, weird...

Gonna go for a lobe type supercharger I think, found some in Australia of all places...

Still haven't got the engine either!!! Planning to use a KH engine...
