Old Flatty Pics

I was stationed in the Phillippines back in 88-91 and picked up my first Flathead, a 1942 WLA. There was a local guy in Manila that had a ton of parts that we used to go to to get what we needed. I just recently found and scanned some pictures I took of the parts stash. I thought you guys might like to see them.

The pictures in the link look like an old Indian with its characteristic leaf-spring front suspension.

When working in a dealership in the '70s we had a lot of servicemen as customers. One guy brought me in a pair of NOS H-d plugs from that place. He had a whole case of them he brought home. He also had gotten lots of other small parts off the guy. I saw pictures of it at the time, stuff scattered all over under the trees. Fun to see your pics.

Hey Red,

Not sure if you saw my intro post. It's on this forum under shoot the bull. I visited the PI during two Westpac cruises aboard the Kitty Hawk in the mid-70s. I remember Toby saying he had a buddy in Manila who he used to get bikes and parts from. Good to see someone else post pictures of their finds from around the world. I would assume anything related to old bikes left those islands a long time ago.

Ed...A lot of those parts probably ended up in South Korea. I know a gent there who seems to have an endless supply of nos parts for 45's. Pa
