Why the Fran-6 ?????? Folks ! I had the distinct pleasure of following Fran-6 build this bike....from a vision, to a drawing, to reality. A master at creating...Fran-6 definately is ! I would proudly ride this creation ! Notice how it handles ! Pretty damn good I'd say. Keep up the great works my Good Friend ! about the forks :
all is fake .
this is just for the "look"
i wanted a springfork ( coz they are so beautyful ), but preferred the modern technology of a telescopic fork : strong , safe , perfect braking and handling ....
that's why i simply "dressed" a telescopic like a springfork .

i am very surprized ( and happy ) your comments are so technical/precise ....
you all guys have the good eye !

( the scott design is too-much complicated-pain-in-the-ass for me ! hard to build !:lol: and i'm sure it will never work as fine as a telescopic . )

no , i don't have tooling for hi-techninal buildings , such as forks .... too much complicated . ( i'm also so flemish ... )

i just had a 883 narrow original fork layin'around ...a set of 45' springs....
and one fun idéa in my burned brain .

Still, it's all relative... I quite like girders from the 30's, the angle of the links give you a better idea of travel and dive than on a telescopic...

As for "do you really need 6 inches of travel on modern roads", suffice to say my Sporty teles at standstill got about 1/2 inch travel before bottoming out... This improves to just over an inch once there's enough wind pressure from forward motion on my chest ... and it never bottoms out apart from HUGE potholes...

Other contradictions: most Formula 1 type race cars have about 1/2 inch travel in the tires and another 1/2 inch in the suspension while we seem to think race bikes needs loads more which means we're actually enjoying watching ugly frogs sitting on top of ugly toadstools...

my scoot just leaved me this afternoon to participate in a french session of AMD World Championship ( in "la clusaz" , Savoy )
i have no dream about winning something , coz i KNOW there will be HEAVY-HEAVY-STUFF in this meeting .
européans builders will be there .
