Sportster fork

I have a sportster fork im planning to use, but im not really sure about what year its from.
The oil seels are missing, so i need new ones. But im not really sure about witsh to use.
Fork rubber washer seals for 59-70 XL or Fork seals for 71-72 FX, XLH, XLCH? How do i determine witch one that will fit?
How are the 59-70 monted, outside the leg?
The fork i have has 33mm upper legs and the lower legs are made of steel. The diameter at the bottom of the lower legs are smaller.

To differenciate between early or late H-D made Sporty forks;

Early, 52 to 69: where the seal seats, it's one piece, like swagged out tube

Late, 70 to 72: that same location is in 2 parts, the bigger bit that holds the seal is shrunk on the leg

Once you've checked your legs, order the relevant seal.

Bought the Late, 70 to 72 seals. But i cant get them to seat right.
Tried pushing them inplace with a hydralic press. It seems like they are to small in diameter, the seal gets disformed and the bottom of them seams to swagge out.
How do i get them in place right?

The seals you bought only fit the tubes that are in 2 parts... Won't fit the earlier ones that you must have... You can thin them out on a lathe if you're patient...
