lower stop??

Does anybody know what year lower trees had the left and right stops that pointed up??

I have a 79 XLS with the small diameter stem, fitted to my project. That the stops are straight.

I seem to recall seeing a photo of a front end that had the smaller stem and had two stops that pointed up.

Any help??
