I'm sure that, given the current management's interest in "commerce avant" (il faut manger!) the price will be off the chart.
However, it looks like what could have been, but was never done as a mod on the original 1940 casting: a downdraft port with some directional swirl as well. The increase in the critical short-side radius (the floor curves down into the seat) is simply not possible any other way.
Assuming they did their homework, the CFM at the valve seat will be a big improvement over the common method of:
1. plunge directly in through the right side, parallel to the crankshaft
2. the location is centered on the largest blank area for convenience
3. keep the port height the same, because it's easier
4. fill in the old port to reconstruct the wall surface? what?
5. make the intake extensions parallel to each other, because symmetry is intuitively correct
6. that's what everyone else does
7. we don't know any better (in 1947 Ferrari had their head in a bag as well)
Of course, what carb will fit without crashing, how they clear any chassis/tank etc. are yet to be determined.
IMHO this cries out for a MicroSquirt EFI conversion to allow the downdraft angle to be followed without float level problems, and keep the bulk of each TB small. You can get TB with a TPS on it cheaply in any size that might work. Rough guess: an 84" motor with 95% efficiency turning 6,000 RPM at peak power can use 2 throttle bodies from the actual port ID up to 65mm (2.56").

Panic, Like the suggestion of Megasquirt for these projects. I've been following Megasquirt for awhile myself. they read like they have the harley interface down. What tickled my fancy on these castings is that, 72 years after the original casting was designed, we still allow a blanked off portion of the head to drill and tap for priming ports, for those cold morning starts :lol:

i'm sure that such limited-market, specialised engineering will be expensive. But, someone is doing it, is the main thing

I am just wondering how far out of the left side of the motorcycle the carburetors for those heads is gonna stick out.

C'mon, Chris,
They are racing heads, and all that weight to the side makes the machine circle left faster!

Seriously, that's a lot of expensive engineering just to put the hardware into a micro market, IMHO.
