Does anybody know or dealt with Mike Gilbertson out of Clinton Utah? I believe he runs a Motorcycle business out of Ogden Utah named Hardtail Reds. I answered an ad he placed on Georges and sent him a Money order for $500.00 for a beehive taillight. He cashed the MO on August 11 and hasn't sent the goods, nor has he answered my emails since and won't reply by phone. Maybe someone local to that area knows of him. I hate to think I've been RIPPED OFF, but it isn't looking good at this point. The address I sent the MO to is:
Mike Gilbertson
2322 N. 720 W.
Clinton UT 84015
His email address points to a business here:
Hardtail Reds
2590 Commercial Way #A
Ogden, UT 84401
Any info or help(a friendly knock on his door) would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,
I’m in Canada and a long way from Utah but I too answered an ad of Mike's on Georges for a springer fender in May 2001 and sent him a money order. It took a few threatening emails and a couple of phone calls (his wife answered) but I finally received the parts towards the end of August 2001. He had lots of excuses for the delay (when he would finally respond) including a military accident investigation in Korea and a funeral in Minnesota... but he did come through in the end.
Here’s some more contact information that was relevant in 2001:
Gilbertson Michael MSgt 388 EMS/LGMT [Michael.Gilbertson@HILL.AF.MIL]

His home address and phone number were the same as what you already have.

It took over three months for him to get my parts to me, but he did… so maybe he’ll eventually deliver your light.

Thanks for the info. I have contacted the post office there in Utah and if anyone else has had trouble with this character, please call Shane at the Clearfield post office at 801-779-9110. He will turn any complaints over to the Postal inspector for investigation of mail fraud, a Federal offense.

Thank God for small miracles! After several calls and messages to Mike's answering machine in Utah, I left a final message that the postal inspector and the sherrifs department would be paying a visit soon, and that night I had a reply and tracking number via email for my package and it arrived safe and sound and complete a few days later. Persistence was the key!

I would say threat of criminal charges was the motivator.
