58-58 Tank emblem

Gents,

how are these emblems originally attached to the tanks. Mine are a bit wobbly and I would like to fix them

They had rivits that went thru speednuts on the backside.

The rivets, clips, and gaskets are available from Old Dude in GA.

I have a 57 pan with the same problem.The plastic emblems are loose. I want to remove and reinsall emblems for paint.
Is there a special tool? I understand that it's a rivet but not sure how to work with them.

Use a punch with a concave tip to try to tighten the rivet by tapping lightly.
To remove the emblem, use a center punch to to locate the center of the rivet. Find a drill bit slightly smaller than the rivet head and drill it out. Go easy, you don't want to drill into the emblem. Once the head is gone, use a drill bit slightly smaller than the rivet shank, and drill it out.
Have the new rivets and clips on hand to gauge how far into the rivet to drill.
