George,
To my knowledge there was only one Knucklehead Service manual. It was written by John Nowak, The MoCo's top troubleshooter, in 1947. It is available as are various Knucklehead parts catalogues, 1926-1939, 1936-48, . V-Twin, Antique Cycle Supply, ETC. carry them. None that I know of available online.

Re: Tech.Book'n'Tips SHOVEL . Many Years
I get to the website fine. The manual won't open.
Re: Tech.Book'n'Tips SHOVEL . Many Years
Chris, the manual on that site is in a PDF file format. Do you have Adobe Reader on your pc ? If not, you can get a free version of it online by just typing in free Adobe Reader. I have a super fast internet connection also. The file is really large. It took about 2 minutes to download it. After opening it, I saw that I already had an original hardcopy of it.

Re: Tech.Book'n'Tips SHOVEL . Many Years
Was at the store this morning and as I came out the door, there sat a 67 Shovel. Never been touched, a bit of mickey mouse fixes here and there, like a spring on the manual timer, but ran like new. Oil all over her but the brother didn't mind it. Was nice to see a basically unmolested machine in that early Shovel Pan combo. Pa

Yes,
That is John's book. At the MoCo he got the nickname of Mr. Hands. That is because it is his hands you see in the pictures in the book.
John was the MoCo's number one trouble shooter and the Dean of the Factory Service School.
Re: Tech.Book'n'Tips SHOVEL . Many Years
Chris: Thanks. Now I know the name of the guy who wrote the book. For my Knuck anyway. What I have been able to get from this site has been amazing. Thanks to all for the time and help. Steve.

chris,
any file you see that ends with .pdf requires the adobe document reader program. it is free to download and allows you to read documents as you would a book. and make copies too!
