Hand grips for 1964

Hi. I am restoring a 1964 Pan and would like some help on identifying the correct hand grips. I have looked at the Greg Fields Panhead book and the Palmers "How to restore" book. I have seen a couple of picture of both styles "waffle and lond ribbed" in both books. A freind had a set of white long ribbed hand grips and these are one of the styles I have seen in both books. My parts manual does not say that white is an option for 64. Can anyone advise me on whether I have the correct grips and the correct colour option for the year?

Steve, I have never had anything but white in the long rib grip style. They must have been very common. They are not comfortable without gloves.

Thanks for the information. I am not planning on keeping this bike any longer than sorting it out after restoration, so it will be up to the new owner to detirmine the comfort factor of the original grips. I am trying to work through the projects that I'm not keeping... but at the same time I want the bike to be correct.

Thanks for posting the picture . Aside from the grime in the lower recesses of my grips, they are the same as the picture although my project just came to a tyre screaming halt. I've just looked at the two peice bars that I had thought were going on this project, but they are later model pullback bars with a right only twist grip and the inner cable sucks in when I wind it on, so it must be for a Bendix.
