Kickstand mounting plate question...

I have two Panhead kickstand mounting plates, 50049-36 I believe? One is used, the other nos. Looking from the top down there are six individual pieces of metal that make up the inside width of the mounting plate, where the jiffy stand fits. On the used one the jiffy stand fits right in but there is too much slop. On the nos one the six metal pieces are reversed and I can't fit the jiffy stand in. Which way are these pieces supposed to be and is there any way to adjust them?

If they truly are installed upside down your only option is to remove the rivits , reinstall it correctly and replace the rivits. The 50049-36 is for rigid Knucks abd Pans only. The 50049-58 are for swing arm frames and will cause a rigid frame machine to stand up too straight. The 50049-58 is easily spotted by two holes drilled in the outside of it.

They're both the same, except for those inside pieces being reversed. Which two holes drilled in the outside are you talking about on the 50049-58? Both of the mine have the four mounting holes in them, that's it.

Sounds like a factory flub up. Remove the rivits and assemble it correctly.
