Wheels Through Time will be closing/moving

I just talked with Dale. He will be closing WTT in August and having an auction to part with 150 machines. He is going to be shopping on the West Coast for a location to move WTT to. Hopefully he will find a place where the town and the Chamber of Commerce will be glad to have him there.
When I visit WTT in Maggie Valley, NC I spend my money in its motels, restaurants, and shops. I am sure the other hundreds of thousands of visitors have done much of the same. The town will realize their mistake after Dale has left.

MAN! that is huge news. Why would a town give up a cash cow like that. I'm sure they don't realize what a mistake they are making. Tell Dale to locate it in Kansas..... It's close to everywhere. There are lots of enthusiasts here. And best of all, it's the same distance from her to L.A as it is from here to N.Y.C

What a shame.WTT had a beautiful spot in the valley and with Dales residence overlooking the Museum grounds it was a great setup. I second Curt's motion to move the facility to Kansas. Central location in the middle of midwestern hospitality and best of all closer to me!

It can seem that way if you blast through and never get off the Interstate. Both major interstates are Eisenhower roads. That means they cannot have more than a 5% grade or more than one turn in 5 miles. That makes for pretty boring riding. It was a cold war directive whereby the military could use interstate roads for landing strips in case of war. But I'm sure you knew that,,, There is some great riding through the Flint Hills in Eastern Kansas. There's some great roads in NW Kansas where I' am.

Maybe that is the rule in Flatland KS. interstate highways have lotsa turns and steep hills in CA, OR, and WA.

Hav ya tried Colorado lately?

I love riding in Colorado. I try to spend some time out there every year. I think i might like the Black Hills better, though. Me and the ol' Lady are going to Deadwood for a couple weeks in June. Riding all day casinos at night. Large fun all week. All the folks moving in from the west coast have kinda screwed up Colorado, lately.

From what I recently learned, the auction has been cancelled.. But the move is still on to Az.
