1932 65" prototype

In 1932 the MoCo prototyped a 65" Flathead. But due to the lousy sales of the VL they shelved it. But many of its features; double down tube frame, tubular forks, welded gas tanks with built in dash were used on the 1936 EL. What was the name of this prototype motorcycle?

No. I had no idea what its name was untill I looked at the tank emblem after scanning the photo at 600 DPI and enlarging it. Walla! there it is.

when i see the way the factory planned to bolt the motor on frame ; can't stop to think about nowaday's twincams ....

I think that proto bike had two names:

It was supposed to be "model W" and we know that by an old internal H-D letter signed by Doerner.

Then I think the name "Silver Eagle" appears on the bike's tank graphic.

I think that's right.

Always risky when you try to remember this stuff without looking it up....
