trying to figure out what this bike is for a friend of mine.

Looks to be a Excelsior/Henderson

Judging by the spring fork/fender location it is a HEN'
JKE

any guess to a model year? i have really no idea. my friend believes the picture would have been taken around 1929. it is his grandfather btw.

Like I said in the first response. It is an Excelsior/Henderson.

and you were correct chris!

spoke with my friend, he said he believed that you guys were correct because his grand father never bought anything new. he believed the photo was taken sometime in '28/29.
