Accolades to you Sir, on a fine job. I also have a scooter with the original (and only) owner still living (46WL) and it has been interesting talking to him and seeing pictures of a proud YOUNG man just returning home from the war and purchasing his new 45. Hopefully I will return it to it's original glory while he is amoung us!
Thanks for sharing the picture, any hopes of you doing a web page with some pics and hints? A job this fine deserves all the attention it can muster.

Very nice restoration! You are a lucky guy,not everyone can have an original with a story like that. I'm glad to see you kept the original color and "as delivered" look. Given enough time I'll have a twin to the 1937 45 my Dad bought new. Bob

An inspiration to us who own the "before photo" version.
Is that the Corbin saddle you were talking about in a previous post?
I'm also keeping the photo for its textbook starting technique.......

Yes jd, that is the Corbin seat. It seems to be of good quality.

Thanks to all for the kind words, and a special thanks to René for all of his help along the way, and for posting the picture on this Forum. For me, putting a picture here is much worse than trying to stop the leaks in my M51 carb.

Someone using the correct red taint!!! I usually don't like red knuckles or flatheads but when you use the correct red, they're killers!

True insperation. My 49 is in so many pcs. right now that it hard to imagine that it will ever look anything like yours. Its hard to visualize in all those milk crates and coffee cans.
