Hall of Fame Museum

Last time I went to look at the flattrack racing pics I somehow ended up at the AMA Museum site and at a list of hall of famers.While there was a good list of racers and famous bikers I was disapointed to not see the name of Joe Smith.Im not sure if Smiths was the first twin engine Harley dragbike.I know for sure Smith was the first motorcycle racer to break into the eight second E.T. bracket.There are some good aticles on Joe Smith in some of the old bike mags but I dont know what month and year.I would think Joe Smith would be in the Hall of Fame.

Then you should submit his name to the AMA. Joe used to work the parts counter at Laidlaws H.-D. back in the 60s/70s.

There was a photo ad of the Ladlaws countermen in the back of the 41-54 parts book.It was pretty nerdy looking.Thats an idea anyway Chris.I could contact them about that instead of complaining.I am not an AMA member.

That was the reproduction 41-54 parts book. Not the original. An easy way to spot to reproduction is the price of the catalogue on the cover, originals had no price on them. Another thing is originals have parts prices in them and repops do not.
