Recomend-chain or belt primary on 38ul

Belt be's best. I have always run Primo and have only broken one - a 2nd hand piece of shit that given to me. Just resist the temptation to run it too tight.

I run open primarys. Enclosed should be vented.

By all means, put a hose on the vent tube and route it away. I did this even on the rat bike. These old oil pumps/ breathers tend to puke.

Thanx alot fellas for the advice. Im gonna run the primo instead of the chain. Ive been ridin 45s and this is my first big flatty so ill definitly be hangin round here while im buildin this chopper for tips. thanx agian

Hi again, Matt.

One, last thing: Be sure you get the pullys lined up exactly. Not hard to do and will extend belt life.

Thanx for the info lintz,question though. You guys think runnin a 3in belt is overduein it or should i go with the 1-1/2 belt. The tree inch looks tough!Is there any difference as far as performance/durability between the two?

Just an opinion but the 3 inch one is probabily overkill unless your really building some horsepower in this motor.
In this case less is more, but thats just my opinion, Being an opinionated putz, you wont have to build the guard around it so big
