WLD? If it is a 43, would have to be WLA, WLC, or G? Number pad says 39 WLD, belly numbers say 43?

isnt the vin# stamped last? could be replacement case's, way back when. #'s do look funny not very deep 6's all seem to have a flat back,

I agree, sometimes re-stamps are officially done after the fact, so a replacement '39 COULD have NOS cases, except the stamp is bogus, and (as a guess) the cases are almost certainly surplus ex-WD WLC, as that was the highest volume '43 made.

These numbers are a poor quality stamp job done by ? Maybe a H-D dealer did it back in the day, but they usually did a much better factory like job. I would suspect a home job
In addition, I've never seen the actual number sequence begin with a "0" in any REAL street motor serial numbers. 'dog
