Schebler GX4

I am a little out of my element. Working on a '34 HD 500cc Single. I am cleaning the completely disassembled Carb in the ultrasonic and am not having any luck finding info on it. It is a GX4 and in really nice shape. I guess my main questions are regarding the plate in the middle that raises and lowers a Needle into the Nozzle. I am guessing the LIFTER on the Low Speed needle is to be used in CONJUNCTION with the choke plate until warm? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Brass Float does NOT seem to be compromised!! The sliding plate behaves as a variable venturi.
Once set, it only needs attention if riding conditions change.
(Or so I was told.... )

The design was far ahead of its time!
Tend to the basics, and it will probably do fine, with a little trial and error on the rider's part, of course.

Carbs are so forgiving.
