Engine idle Way too high when starting her

Hello there.

Was so happy to rebuild by 45 today as I had an issue with my gear box.
Spend my afternoon today to rebuild her.
Really looked forward riding her again after three months, but ain't this way.
First in order to start her up, I need to set the Linkert choke lever to almost close position, which was not the case before.
Before starting her, trottle lever on the handlebar is just slighty open.
She cranks up fine but the Engine idel is way to high, almost if I had turned the throttle to full position.
Same goes when I shut the choke lever to fully open position (even worse should I say).
Ignition is fine
Checked also the Linkert throttle lever that moves freely with the throttle on the handlebar.

My humble opition is that there is something going wild in the Linkert , that has been sitting there for three months , but cannot figure out what could go wrong.
Any idea that would help me get some clue to where to look at woudl be more than welcome.
Thanks!

Philou94!

If the machine tuned operably before, then I would suspect from experience that the aircleaner may have been bumped during the layover, and a vacuum leak has developed at the manifold.

Vacuum leaks often result in a high idle and the need for over-enrichening.

You may wish to test your assembly with regulated airpressure and soapy water as discussed at http://virtualindian.org/11techleaktest.html

Good luck!

Ok guys,
Need to close this post. The issue was a stupid thing any beginner would have found.
The throttle cable was not inserted properly and thus did not allow the throttle lever to fully close.
Shame on me!!

Post is a good one to keep up. What you experienced may be experienced by others and your find will help them eliminate that issue when troubleshooting the same symptoms. Pa

Thanks for the support folks, really appreciate that, was looking so stupid when I found out.
In fact there was a little little tiny space that made the thing go wild.
Thanks!
