I ran a pretty fast 61ci Knucklehead that I stroked to 68 inches with 80 inch flywheels and 74 inch barrels and pistons.
Shows how with age, memory overcomes history...

It's possible, but I don't see how those contradict the statement.
EL with 74" wheels: 3-5/16" × 3-31/32" = 68.4" (pretty common)
EL with 80" wheels: 3-5/16" × 4-9/32" = 73.8" (this is the original U/UL bore and stroke)
EL with 74 barrels and 80" wheels: 3-7/16" × 4-9/32" = 79.5"
EL with 74" wheels: 3-5/16" × 3-31/32" = 68.4" (pretty common)
EL with 80" wheels: 3-5/16" × 4-9/32" = 73.8" (this is the original U/UL bore and stroke)
EL with 74 barrels and 80" wheels: 3-7/16" × 4-9/32" = 79.5"
