But either:
1. S&S did not understand the application (the wheels would have been not only the correct stroke, but marked "EX" indicating OD reduced to 8.25")
2. the DPO "was told" (the father of all lies) that they were either correct, or "would make it last longer by reducing the compression" (yes, this nonsense is still repeated by each successive generation of bobble-heads), and never tried to install them (the OD won't clear the scraper)
3. the DPO knew they wouldn't fit - and you inherited it
Not only is it a flying pain to reduce the OD (1940 cases need 8.3125", 1937-39 cases need 8.28125"), but you will have no squish at all and 4:1 compression. Sell them.
