OK so finally I'm riding the 402 and I notice the plugs seem cold (black & sooty). Anyone know what is the next warmer plug from a D16?

And can anyone recommend (from experience) what oil I should be running? It's ALWAYS 75-85 F out here.

By the by, a word to the wise, IF the compression is good and you are still fouling a plug it is most likely bound up and needs gentle heat cycling to break it loose.

D16 is pretty hot already - are you sure it's not bad spark voltage?
Next hotter number should be D18, but I've never seen one.

I'm not sure about the D16, it's what I was told to run in it, Maybe the carb is out of tune, the plugs do seem to fire well. I do have the riders handbook for it. And I thought I set the carb up correctly.

Does anyone have a opinion on Amzoil for a lubricant?

Check your ignition timing and make sure it's right before messin' with the carb.
