Indian chief fork align

Are you certain that the wheel has not been laced to center on its hub instead of to a proper offset? I have made this same mistake, and cannot correct it because I fudged it with a harley wheel and spokes!

how's the front guard look? does the bike handle o.k.? Seems the wheel its self is alright, and if the front end went together o.k. ya might need to check the frame. my '44 Chief look "wrong" but checked square rim to rim and handle real sweet!Sometimes it real hard to tell just by eye.
Sounds like ya done all the right things, so maybe frame?
