If the clutch is self enguaging it's usually either the friction clutch on the pedal or the throwout bearing. Un hook the clutch rod and feel the pedal both ways, now would be a good time to take it apart and see if the friction disc is greasy or damaged. Once you are sure that the pedal friction clutch is not the problem start it up with the clutch rod still off and turn the clutch arm forward by hand if you feel any roughness it's probably time to pull the primary and replace the throughout bearing. If you havent already now would be a good time to install either a King Clutch ot a Jerry Greer Clutch.
