Jib and All!

The first modern attempt at reproducing the Big Base motor was by Lyle Landstrom: http://virtualindian.org/projbb.htm

I seem to remember the project was subsequently assumed (or pirated?) by somebody on the Left Coast, with poor results.

At Davenport this year, I caught wind of yet another attempt to produce improved cases.

It would be great if the Host of this forum would premier their long-awaited cylinders!

Re: what makes a bigbase motor

thanks guys, so was there only 5 bigbase scout motors built? . pop up piston, small ports, relieved? cam overlap/timing/lift/duration,?
so were these motors the pinnacle of Indian side-valve technolgy.

on another note... panic would the crankcase expansion bottle idea work for a 45 as well, or woulds it inhibit the pressure needed to vent the oil via the tower ?
