Cad plating on a '46 cast iron oil pump...

On my '46 Chief, I need to rebuild/refinish the oil pump. I really want to do the correct cad plating on it. Are there any pros/cons to cad plating it? I have heard different stories, re: oil passages getting plugged up or threads having to br re-tapped. Any input appreciated.

I have seen so many oil pumps with no plating on them including a NOS 47 pump I have that I don't believe they were plated or not always. Paint it with silver paint.
