casting numbers of heads

what year is the following casting number of the Head : B 22-6

6 would be 36 or 46

22 ?

If the '22' is not a typo I would hazard a guess at 37 or 38.

For some reason when they started the casting dates on iron in those years they did not seem to make any sense. I've got some early knucklehead cylinders that have weird date codes on them.
