emergency fix for intake maniflod nipples

The correct method isn't always an option. A group of my buddies are headed to Hayward, Wi. for their annual "Boys Weekend" tomorrow. One of the guys found trouble with his intake manifold on his '47 FL. Seems as though the threads on the nipples are a little weak. The builder should be spanked for letting that go. Anyway, the question is what type of smoowie can he use to seal them to get him by for the week end? The real fix of course is to replace the nipples. Time and availability doesn't make that an option if he is to make the run. He is leaning toward green loctite. Any other short term solutions?

Green Loctite might make it a little rough to remove when he wants to fix it later.
Go red and use some "smoowie" on the flange outside the threads for sealing......
Got the rocker yet?

The Loctites are not gas-proof.

If not J-B Weld ,(but not the Kwik-Set type), then my next choice would be a urethane metallic paint that would wick into the threads.
