I have allways used SU Carbs on them old Knuckles and Pans.
The problem with the Bendix is the accelerator Pump and it`s related parts.
It is leaking Gas sooner or later and the pump is not adjustable. With the SU you may have to kick it once more but it runs smooth as silk. But you have to adjust it right.
If you consider the SU let me know and I´ll help with adjustment Instructions

Try the bendix carb and wire throttle bracket from a 72 FX or sportster

the bendix is a good carb but you really need to get one with or install an adjustable main jet. i run one on my big flat and its nice to reach down there and give her a couple of cliks to throw more fuel in there at top end or even just to run her a little rich on those really hot days. should not be any major problems on hooking one up to your knuck. happy blasting.
