We all make mistakes, this is one I made over 25 years ago. Back then I was into pre 1940 sprint cars, and bought out a guys garage filled with stuff. I brought it home and sorted through it. There was a twin cam 16 valve D.O.GREEN on a five main block, and a car to put in. There were pieces of an old midget in the mix as well. I started to assemble a pile of midget related parts, and had the car mocked up, with the engine in place. A good friend stopped by to look at my new find, and hopped into the midget."WOW this is neat!" he said. "Give me $100.00 and it is yours" I said. I'm six foot and wouldn't fit in the car. What was it? This still hurts. It was a Pop Dryer built Harley Knucklehead powered midget, built for Bill Schindler! It also won two East Coast Chanpionships! We found this out later. It has changed hands again and is under restoration in Eastern Connecticut. You can't keep everything. I'm still looking for 1937 Harley 45 stuff.
