front wheel assembly

Can someone walk me thru the installation of the front wheel on a 47 springer? I have looked in all my books, and am unable to find info on how tight to go on the axle sleeve nut, and also on the front axle nut. When I tighten everything up, I do not get free travel in the front end. I am also running an old style shock absober.

rockers to tight maybe , binding or bound up front brake link , front axle should have a castlelated nut with a cotter pin installed, nut should be just tight enough to take the slack out of the spacers and install cotter pin. more tighter and you just put extra pressure on your wheel bearings.
