Whos got the oldest Knuckle?
My newest godchild Knuck is featured in the AMCA membership advertisement that has been running in the AMA's "American Motorcyclist", as well as "Walneck's" and "Old Bike Journal". That's my good buddy Ed and his charming wife Diane on 47EL11568.
If we add up the OHV count from Rick Conner's "H-D Databook (Motorbooks International) we might guess that the last knuck was 47XX11648 (Barring 'late issues' from dealer's open titles)....Cotten

Should be in the 12000's if the total for 47 was over 11000 E's and F's together and the factory skipped the odd numbers to start with on the odd number year so 2k 3k 4k 5k 6k 7k 8k 9k 10k 11k and 12k. So the newest one would be somthing on the order of 12647 or 8
depending on if it started with 2000 or 2001

According to Palmer's ("How to...")the odd-even thing was only applied during the '60s. A lot of confusion comes from the "late issue" circumstance where dealers would assign open titles to machines built upon replacement cases. This has come under legal restriction in modern times, however open titles probably still exist to this day, as well as the elusive NOS cases...Cotten
