Springer Frt. End

Greetings,
I am putting a springer front end together and I`m wondering if it`s a better ride with a springer shock as opposed to a ride control.
Over the years I have run a few ride controls but have never had the opportunity to run a shock on a springer. Are the front shock springers a better ride ?
Also; Is there a timken kit available to run the set of tapered roller bearings ? instead of the balls. (it`s for a newer frame that has tapered roller brgs.)

The shock absorber is the better functioning ride control. Good oem shocks are hard to find and expensive. Putting timkens on a springer always ends up as a bit of a cobble job, I would just buy the original loose bearing cups and hardware.

Thanks Amklyde , I 1ll probably have to go with a "J & P" shock ,or a dreaded V-Twin ,I wonder if they`re any good.
