6 volt coil in 12 volt system ?????

TMJOH: To safely use a 6 volt coil in a 12 volt system is rather simple. Measure the resistance of the coil. Match that with a resistor of the same value and go. Most 6 volt H-D coils I have worked with were around 12 to 15 ohms. All after market by the way. That is it . Have fun. Steve

Anybody ever use a 6 volt horn on a 12 volt system? Man, it is LOUD! Will work for a long time if the horn is only used for short blasts.
